The Machine Maintenance Technician uses skills in reading blueprints and problem solving, performs repairs and ensures timely maintenance of various types of machinery in a large print facility. Tracks trends and monitors gauges and other equipment to ensure maximum up-time on machines. Follows safe work practices and conducts self in a professional manner with vendors, contractors, and other employees.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Service, repair, adjust, and test equipment that operate based on mechanical and electronic principles
  • Conduct regular tests and inspections of machines and processes to evaluate quality and performance.
  • Inspect equipment, structures, circuits, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
  • Identify issues by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Observe, receive, and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources, including machine operators and service contract providers.
  • Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
  • Maintain a scheduled maintenance routine on each machine and teach the operators to how to take care of the equipment.
  • Update internal tracking systems and maintain internal WIKI pages on machines.
Requirements

Β 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with 2-year technical certificate preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience maintaining small- and large-scale production machinery preferred
  • Strong electrical knowledge and experience working with electrical systems
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and diagrams
  • Ability to fabricate or modify parts using various tools and equipment
  • Experience working with plumbing, electrical and HVAC systems
  • Experience in a Production environment, preferably print
